In the USA winners of the Pulittserovsky award are declared

newspaper Washington Post which has received the Pulittserovsky award in six nominations became the Favourite this year.

The most prestigious award in a nomination «For journalism in interests of a society», awards a series of publications about bad treatment of the American soldiers in hospital Walter Reed in Washington. It has led to resignation of the minister of land forces and one of army generals.

Washington Post also awarded in a nomination «Urgent news» - for illumination of murder of 32 persons at Technological university of Virginia.

«Steve Fajnaru's report for a series of publications about private security firms in Iraq became the best international reporting».

Колумнист Washington Post Stephen Perlstajn has received the award for «research of economic troubles of the country with masterful clearness».

Also correspondents of the newspaper Joe Beker and Barton Gellman have been awarded in a nomination «the best reporting on the national policy» for articles about mechanisms of influence of vice-president Dika Chejni.

The high award the sketch about the violinist of world level who played the underground for indifferent passengers is awarded.

The award for the best picture story was received by agency Rejter - for a picture on which the Japanese photographer killed during antigovernmental demonstrations in Burma in last year is represented.

New York Times and Chicago Tribune have divided the award for journalistic investigation.
